Adjustable bread slicing guide 2nd generation

This is my 2nd generation of adjustable bread slicing guides. By raising and lowering the guides slicing table any thickness of bread may be sliced from approximently 3/16" to 3/4" using a bread knife or electric knife. The adjustment is quick and easy to accomplish.

If you watch the videos on the other slicing guide you will see the basics of how my guides work. This one simply adjust easier with less parts involved to obtain your desired thickness.

My goals were to make it easy to use, affordable, durable, easily stored and most of all slice perfectly straight slices of bread every time. It also needed to be compatible using either an electric or bread knife. Plus be usable by right or left handed people.

This slicing guide comes with a removable stop in the slicing tray. This stops loaf sliding due to the pressure of the knife cutting through the loaf. I designed this option after a customer voiced a concern about their ability to hold the loaf securely. After watching the above video you can make your decision which option is right for you. The stop slips in and out of the slicing guide bread tray easily, and support the loaf firmly. The stop works no matter if you are right or left handed. Or, you may choice to not use the stop at all.

There are anti slip pads on the bottom of the slicer so that it will not move around as you slice your bread.

I feel I accomplished all of my goals in designing and building this bread slicing guide. After you try it I think you will agree. You can spend a lot more for other guides that will not work any better than this one. In fact I think this one works better than all others I have tried. It will last a lifetime with proper care. Just clean with a damp cloth. Do not soak with water.

A word of advice: The guide is over 7" wide and will not work with a short 8" bread knife. I use one that is 12" long. They are available on line or most home good stores. Our electric knife has a blade length of 7 1/2" and works fine since it does the sawing, not you as in a bread knife that needs to saw back and forth.

Be advised it has been my experience that even though the guide has a 1/2" slice thickness measurement for example, the actual thickness can very slightly. Loaf density or pressure applied by the cutter does effect the slices thickness by a small amount above or below the measured 1/2". As you gain experience in the use of the guide, you will be slicing your bread at the designed thickness every time.
