Here is a very unusual and beautiful mounting of a 2 1/8" quartz clock! You are buying the clock and "Cedar Root" that is shown in the pictures. It is one of a kind. The last few pictures show the clocks I cut out of the old cedar root similar to the one behind the clocks. The root is beautiful in its own right!

This piece of very old Cedar Root is truly a gift from "Mother Nature" that allowed me to make this beautiful quartz clock mounting.

The clock is a Hicarer Quartz clock insert that operates on its sealed PC 21 battery with a 2 year lifetime. When the clock fails it is easily replaced and available from various clock websites including Amazon. The clock will come in its original package. Simply remove the small plastic tab under the stem for setting and activating the battery to start the clock. Insert clock into hole drilled into the piece of cedar. A soft rubber friction ring on the outside of the clock works will hold it in place. This will take you five minutes to perform this operation.

As you can see in the pictures, I have left much of the old root structure untouched to create a contrast between the finished part and the natural part. This old root also has beautiful color and wood grain structure.

Cracks and wood knots cause problems when working with old wood found on the forest floor. In fact these old cedar pieces of wood may gain a few new cracks as they age. You as a consumer have two choices...……..walk away from the piece or accept the wood as God gave it to us to enjoy for what it is. This old wood is the same as the people we meet every day, not every one of either is perfect. Look the pictures over carefully because what you see is what you will receive with the exception of color variations due to different monitors and such.

I can't guarantee natures work. I can only assure you that when I am working on these projects all the skill and ability I have will go into what nature has provided me.
